What is Accessibility?

Accessibility refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people who experience disabilities. Accessibility is defined by the International Standard Organization as "the ability to access and use a facility or resource." It is also defined by the World Health Organization as "a matter of design that includes physical accessibility in addition to adaptability within the context of using equipment, communicating with others including persons with hearing loss, seeing impairment and/or mental health conditions."

Accessibility topics include color contrast, keyboard navigation, pagination, screen readers, tab order management, and assistive technology support.
