What is Data Science?

"Data Science" is a new buzzword that refers to the use of statistics and machine learning to solve problems. Data science uses techniques like statistical modeling, data mining, data analysis, and predictive analytics to solve business problems. A data scientist often has advanced knowledge in math, statistics, programming languages (like Python or R), and computer science. Data scientists are expected to be able to utilize new technologies like Hadoop for big-data processing tasks.

Data science and machine learning topics include big data, artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics, and text analysis. Additional related topics include cloud computing, IoT (Internet of Things), bot development, and business intelligence.
