What is a Lean Startup?

The Lean Startup movement is a business methodology that emphasizes the importance of experimentation and testing in order to reduce risk. Lean Startup advocates believe that it is important to use customer feedback as early as possible in the product development process, allowing for changes or pivots based on customer needs or goals. In addition to using customer feedback, Lean Startup proposes that startups should create minimum viable products (MVPs) instead of full-featured products. The MVP approach allows startups to release less mature products earlier in the development process so they can receive critical user feedback sooner and pivot away from a failing idea before wasting time and resources building a product nobody wants.

Lean startup topics include lean methodology, minimum viable product, and agile development. Additional topics related to lean development include continuous delivery, design sprints, frequent releases, and test-driven development.
