Being a resident of Maui himself, Mark wanted to create a one-stop solution for tourists and locals to access the most underrated snorkeling spots around the islands at their fingertips. This Maui snorkeling guide application can help by providing tourists with detailed information about the best snorkeling spots on the island, including location, difficulty level, and what type of marine life they can expect to see. This can save tourists tons of time and effort, allowing them to focus on enjoying their snorkeling experience, rather than trying to find a good spot.
Mark Morrison further explains the idea behind the app’s creation, “Aloha! My name is Mark Morrison and I am the co-creator of the travel app Maui Snorkeling Guide. I live on the island of Maui, and living here, I find myself doing a lot of water activities like surfing, wing, foiling, and especially snorkeling. And Maui is a beautiful place to be snorkeling. They have 20-plus beaches and snorkeling sites, but trying to find these places is very difficult. I found many of the tourists asking what beaches are the best beaches to go snorkeling at. And it dawned on me, there’s no app for that. There are several websites but you have to click through and find them and it’s just difficult. There’s no one-stop shop. So that’s how the idea of Maui snorkeling Guide came to fruition.”

He explains, “One of the best features of our app is the pictures. We have a reef fish guide with over 30 plus fish in it and pictures of the fish. Then we also have for each snorkel destination or location, images, aerial images, and then beautiful beach shots, shots at the parking lot, and whether there are showers or restrooms. But the key is the aerial shots because you really get to look down on the reef and see where you can enter from the beach and not step on or destroy the reef.”
